"OYOGERA LUGANDA?" = "Do You Speak Luganda?" Thank you for praying about the start of our Luganda-language Bible Study at Faith Baptist Church. Two of our church members are leading the weekly studies, and both of these men have commented on the positive feedback they are getting from those who have begun attending. Currently, they are working verse-by-verse through the Gospel of John. This allows the class to teach not only some very important core doctrines but also how to study the Bible and discern its true meaning from the scripture itself. We were also excited to have record attendance in our Palm Sunday and Easter services this year with nearly 150 in attendance both Sundays. Praise the Lord that we've had first time visitors every week since we've moved into the new building last August, and several have since put their faith in Christ alone for salvation!
CHILDREN'S CURRICULUM: Our two Sunday services for children follow different formats. Our 9:30 Sunday School focuses on scripture memorization along with learning and applying key principles from the Bible. For 2026, we have been developing a series of lessons that teaches the books of the Bible in order, with key verses and summaries of each division of scripture. Our 10:30 Children's Church follows a 4-year systematic study of the Bible from Genesis to the Early Church. Last year, we started getting several questions from our church children about Revelation because they had been reading it at home. So instead of starting back in Genesis for 2026, we have been creating a series of lessons through the book of Revelation. Please pray with us for wisdom as we develop this year-long curriculum.
SUMMER WEDDINGS: In addition to Emilie's college graduation, Eric completing High School and starting college, and our 25th wedding anniversary, we're thrilled to announce that BOTH of our daughters will be getting married this summer. God has led each of them to an excellent godly young man, and we couldn't be more excited. Abbie will wed in June followed by Emilie in August -- both of them in Pennsylvania!
PLEASE PRAY FOR
• Spiritual growth for those who have visited FBC, accepted Christ, and begun discipleship.
• Safety during our very busy furlough! We will be in the USA from May-September.
• Wisdom for the Applegates and the rest of our FBC leadership while we are away.
PRAISE THE LORD FOR
• Dr. Henry Johnson (who performed our wedding 25 years ago!) coming to teach a seminary class with Dan.
• Godly future-spouses for our daughters.
• Generally peaceful elections in Uganda.
